Today, the Central Asian Oncology Congress CARO-2020 is being held - the successor to the Central Asian Radio-Oncological Congress 2018 and 2019 in Tashkent. The event was organized by Uzbekistan, Austria and Russia. This year's CARO 2020 motto is “Basic and Clinical Research, Patient Orientation and Digitalization - the Four Pillars of Progress in Oncology”.
CARO 2020 is positioned as a platform for communication between medical workers of Central Asia and foreign specialists, exchange of the latest achievements in clinical practice, scientific research and medical technologies. Given the limitations of the Covid-19 pandemic, the event is being held on an open internet platform.
Leading experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are invited to participate in the congress. Leading clinical and technological competence in the field of oncology will be presented by specialists from Germany, Austria, Russia, USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Great Britain, South Korea, the Netherlands, Australia, South Africa, Czech Republic and other countries.
On the first day of the congress, the General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMITs of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, President of the Association of Directors of Oncology and Radiology Institutes of the CIS and EA countries, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Kaprin speaks. His report is devoted to the problems of early diagnosis of cancer in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. The reports will also be presented by Dr. med. Natalya Rubtsova, her message is dedicated to the activities of the reference center on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center of Radiology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Ph.D. Valery Krylov with a report on radionuclide therapy for bone metastases, and Doctor of Biological Sciences Lyudmila Grivtsova, who will talk about the cellular biobank.
The Congress was supported by the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Medical Academy, and the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers.
