2020 became a jubilee year for a whole cohort of oncological services in ADIOR member countries. On October 8-9, a solemn conference dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Oncology of Moldova was held online.
The meeting was opened by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova Viaritsa Dumbravenu, President of ADIOR, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Caprin, Director of IARC Elizabeth Vanderpass and other officials.
- Cancer knows no boundaries, - said Academician Kaprin in his welcoming speech, - and for many years, hand in hand with our foreign colleagues, we have been resisting this formidable disease. We all left the Soviet school of health care, and the fact that we managed to get close again and jointly solve many issues, now at the site of the Association of Directors of Oncology and Radiology Institutes of the CIS and Eurasia, of course, gives us great advantages in this struggle.

The rich two-day scientific program of the anniversary conference included speeches by specialists from Russia, Romania, Germany, Moldova.
The report of Andrey Kaprin, Director General of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, was devoted to nuclear medicine and its development prospects.
The head of the center for diagnostics and treatment of PDT of the P.A. Herzen Moscow Oncological Institute, executive director of ADIOR, Professor Elena Filonenko, spoke about SIA-scopic diagnostics for skin melanoma.
- At the recently held Third International Forum of Oncology and Radiology, ADIOR members were able to communicate within the framework of both scientific and business programs, - said Elena Vyacheslavovna. - We discussed the preparations for the next congress of the Association, which will be held next spring.
It is gratifying to note that despite the restrictions on movement associated with the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus, our ties have not weakened, and it was our organization that set an example of interactive communication in conditions of social isolation and a pandemic. This experience gives us the opportunity to keep moving forward.
